All the while, the students are trying to navigate their way through the perils of high school. John Jeffrey Martin plays the Troy and is no stranger to hit musicals with roles on Broadway in Hairspray, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Good Vibrations. Arielle Jacobs is Gabrielle and originated the role. She has been in hits like A Chorus Line and Cinderella. Helene Yorke plays Sharpay and was in the original cast recording of Walmartopia. The cast is young, vibrant and perfect to bring such a high-energy show to life.
The musical is put on by the stage company of Disney, Disney Theatrical. The book was written by David Simpatico and the music and lyrics are by Matthew Gerrard, Robbie Nevil, Ray Cham, Greg Cham, Andrew Seeley, Randy Petersen, Kevin Quinn, Andy Dodd, Adam Watts, Bryan Louiselle, David N. Lawrence, Faye Greenberg and Jamie Houston.
