Hiking And Backpacking Checklist
Ensure that you take some or all of the following personal items: ÿ Personal Hygiene Kit (toothbrush and toothpaste, biodegradable soap, razor, comb, towel, women’s sanitary supplies, partial roll of toilet paper, toilet trowel) ÿ Personal medications ÿ Insect repellent ÿ Lip balm ÿ Camera and film ÿ Spare batteries ÿ Journal, pen, notebook ÿ Sewing/repair kit ÿ Money ÿ Rope for bear bagging (optional) ÿ Cord for drying clothes (optional) CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT FOR THE TRAIL Wear or use the following items while you are hiking: ÿ Shorts or pants ÿ Shirt ÿ Sock liners ÿ Socks ÿ Hiking boots or shoes ÿ Hat ÿ Watch ÿ Trekking poles ÿ Backpack ÿ Compass ÿ GPS (Optional) ÿ Map and / or Notebook ÿ Extra items of clothing (underwear, pants, shirt, insulating layers).
