History Of Indian Cinema

Bollywood or Hindi film industry is one of the oldest film industries in India. It is also called as India Cinema. Dadasaheb Phalke produced first Hindi film called Raja Harishchandra in the year 1913.The first commercial flim in bollywood was Alam Ara which was produced in 1931 by Ardeshir Irani.

Bollywood industry is located in Mumbai which is also called as financial capital of India. The actual growth of bollywood was started from the year 1950. It is also known as Golden edge of Hindi Cinema. Some of the popular films in the 50’s decade were Awaara and Shree 420.

From 1955 the Hindi film industry stated growing. Mughal-e-Azam was biggest blockbuster in 1960.From 1960, some action films and romance films was introduced in Indian cinema with new actors like Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rajesh Khanna.Some of famous actress in bollywood in 1960 was Sharmila Tagore, Mumtaz and Helen.During 1980 to 1990 the industry was rocked with some romantic movies.

Current bollywood industry is very big industry. On an average 100 new movies released in each new year with huge turnover. Some of the famous actors in bollywood are Amir Khan, Akshay kumar, shahrukh khan and many others. Amitabh Bachchan is most popular actor in Hindi film industry till date. As most Hindi movies are based on love; music or songs are essential part of Hindi Movies. In each film there are 5 to 7 songs.
