Holiday Attractions In Gatlinburg

Located in the beautiful Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg is a small town in Tennessee. People come from all over the country to experience all that the town has to offer. The holiday season is the most exciting time of the year in Gatlinburg, as there are so many attractions to see.

On December 2, the town will host the annual Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade. The Parade begins at 7:30 p.m and is hosted by Ripley’s Entertainment. Included in the parade is the world-renowned Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, marching bands and enormous helium balloons. There is a Santa’s Autograph Party, which takes place before the parade. It will really put you in the holiday spirit.

From November 9 to January 30, visitors can take the Trolley Ride of Lights. These guided trips leave at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 each night and advance reservations are available. The tour consists of thousands of sparkling lights that will light up the night. The ride is 45 minutes long, and you can see the festive lights of Gatlinburg. In the exhibitions, you can expect to see animals, balloons, Christmas trees and much more. The driver of the trolley will narrate the ride. The nights in Gatlinburg can get quite cold, so you should dress appropriately.

Chili is one of the best foods to eat during the fall, and Gatlinburg is home to an annual Winter Magic Kickoff and Chili Cook-off. The event takes place on November 9, and you can taste scrumptious homemade Chili and listen to the popular music of the Tams. Other entertainment will also be provided. At the event, over 20 restaurants and other establishments and agencies will cook delicious cups of Chili. Awards will be distributed, and you will not leave hungry.

On November 11, Gatlinburg will honor our veterans with a Veteran’s Day celebration. The city wants to thank the men and women who have sacrificed so much. Admission is free, and you will be able to hear keynote speakers as veterans are honored. There will be patriotic music, a military flyover, an American Bald eagle production and much more. It is a great time for America to tell the veterans how much they are appreciated.

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, you can attend the Gatlinburg Thanksgiving Arts and Crafts show. You can see crafts, including jewelry, candles, candy and quilts. Various artists and craftsmen will show off their skills in this fun holiday event.

One of the best ways to get in the holiday spirit is Winter Magic Tunes and Tales. This Friday and Saturday night live program takes place from November 25-December 17. You will see carolers dressed in costumes from the Victorian era. You can meet characters straight from “A Christmas Carol.” It is an entertaining evening.

You can end the year in style by watching the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop on New Year’s Eve. Located at The Space Needle, the area will glow with red lights as you celebrate the beginning of a new year. Prior to midnight, you will be entertained by a disc jockey, and party favors will be provided at the event. Following the ball drop, you can see a spectacular fireworks display that will astound you.
