Horror Costumes

Horror Movies have had a big impact on the Horror Costumes we see available today but their history started with the Celts in the 1800's.

The very first costumes recorded were from the Celtic festival of samhain, a festival to celebrate the end of harvest and to prepare for winter, this festival happened on the last night of October and although hardly recognisable is what we now know as Halloween.

Have always been popular again due to the exposure from the many movies produced over the years, creating a vampire costume is relatively easy and the whole family can join in.

Zombie

Now this is a costume that originally stems from the Celts as they believed that on the 31stof Oct is when the living dead returned to cause trouble, but today’s outfits are more film character based and the visual effects are great and let’s not forget the zombie played by the late Michael Jackson in Thriller,

Friday the 13th to some was the best scary film ever, but there are thousands more to choose from, so with Halloween fast approaching its time to pick your theme and start preparing your costume for a night of Horror.
