House Training Tips - Creating A Feeding Schedule For Your Dog

In this article we will take a closer look at your dogs eating patterns. This topic is often skipped by many dog owners, causing their dogs to suffer from various health problems and making them frustrated.

Creating a diet for your dog, is it too much?

When most of the people hear about creating a diet for their dogs, they think I am crazy. This way of looking at things is the biggest mistake you can make. Your pet is, just like you, a living creature that needs some level of regularity and predictability in his diet.

Ask yourself a question: "Do I eat whenever I want?" And I am not talking about consuming foods because you were hungry, in majority of cases people and dogs eat from boredom or to feel better. This is definitely a wrong approach.

By leaving a full bowl of food and water for your pet, you allow him to develop a irregular eating patterns. This in turn leads to weight problems and eliminating during random times.

Creating a fat dog...

Most of the dogs that live in large cities and whose owners don't take them out often enough, become overweight. It is directly connected to the fact that pets are allowed to eat whenever they like, thus eating more than they need and gaining pounds.

Of course this issue could be eliminated by simply including more physical activity in your dogs life, but a lot of people don't have time for it. If this is the case with you, than you have to control your pets diet. If you will fail to limit his daily calories intake, he will become a lazy ball of fat that expects that everything will be done for him.

A lot of times, my friends tell me that their dogs are becoming arrogant, lifeless and lazy. That is an effect of unhealthy life style. Whenever you wonder if something is right for your dog, try to imagine if it would be right for you.

As you can see, failing to create a feeding schedule for your dog, can cause a lot of problems. From irregular elimination to obesity, it is a good idea to spend an hour or two and figure out when your dog should eat to remain fit and happy. After all I doubt you want your pet to become a lazy, fat and ungrateful pet.
