It can be assumed that because George Clinton and touring are still involved with one another after more than 50 years, the man has lived a colorful life. From writing as a staff composer for Motown in the 1960s to landing over 40 hit singles as a P-Funk originator in the 1970s, George Clinton has toured more musical terrain than most other musicians living today, though none of it on the horror rap circuit.

But don’t call him a has-been. George Clinton tours the country frequently, and will be kicking off his next series of famous George Clinton tour dates with a seemingly misplaced appearance at horror rap music festival Gathering of the Juggalos. Yet is his appearance really that strange?

George Clinton’s Inner Juggalo

The first reason in favor of George Clinton playing at Gathering of the Juggalos is that he’s talented. Secondly, he’s been authentic and true to his sound for longer than most Juggalos have been alive. Finally, George Clinton is as original as they come, a trait admired by every Juggalo.

And it’s a good thing if you’ve come around to believing George Clinton’s tour dates lining up with the Gathering of the Juggalos is a great thing, because he’ll be hard to escape at this year’s horror rap music festival – he’s playing the main stage!
