Now social media sites being flooded with members and companies turning to them for getting their company noticed. These sites have found a way for users to become involved in what they approved of that out there. Rarely does someone find a news site, company site, or even just a fun fact site that they do not have the opportunity to cast their vote for approval by clicking a button.

This type of media is beginning to be more commonplace for the companies to use for their public relations to reach out to their target. It is also helping to create more and more links promoting their sites by getting the exposure on users news feed. There are those in the advertising and SEO world that believe that the use of these sites will be yet another way that search engines will begin to validate a website.

This could very possible be a fact in the near future. Search engines have used link-based algorithms to determine the rankings in the past. Which is what has lead to the major discord between the search engines and spammers. Since most people can understand how linking creates higher rankings within the engines, they are finding way to manipulate the algorithms.

If social media were to begin providing a sort of voting mechanism to show which sites they prefer by providing these "like" links, it could help in find which sites belong at the time. It would take some of the guesswork out of the algorithms duties and allow the general public to make the actual decision on what is good and what is not.

Though it is not really believed that these voting mechanisms will actually replace the idea of linking building for the ranks, but it is believed that they many compliment them. Websites that have built a reputation based on what their content is, will still place other links on their page and just because of reputation, the search engines will give the linked pages credit. But there will most definitely be some notice given to the positive feedback from the end user.

There is one very good thing about the social media voting. Most of the sites do their own form of checking for fakes or spammers. This is helpful because if they are sorting through the good and bad profiles on their own site, the search engines do not have to sort through them.

Yes social media is certainly getting the attention of companies as yet another way to advertise and reach millions of people. Which does suggest that an SEO company will need people who are quick to move along with the new technology. They both will continue to be very valuable assets to any company wanting to get the most out of their website.
