How Hungry Are You?
Do you know what is the greatest power of the human mind? “The human mind is made such as it can’t make the difference between something you strongly believe in and what is real.” “It can’t be done!” How many times have you heard this statement or said it yourself in your life? All too many I’m sure. People like to tell other that what they can’t do themselves can’t be done. It’s also a bad excuse to justify failure, it’s just so easy to say:”It can’t be done!” And guess what, the more the people repeat this sentense, and the more they start to believe it, and fair enough, they are then proven right by failing. The very first step in your life and whatever you wish to accomplish in your life, starts with the fact that you must believe that it can be done, furthermore, that you can do it! My life is more dramatic than your favorite soap opera. “After my grand parents died in a house fire, my mother was left without a home so to survive she looked for a man to marry her. At 14 years old, she gave birth to me. My father being an alcoholic always drunk, (he died 7 years ago of liver cancer) left my mother while I was 3 years old. Unable to take care of me, my mother sold me to a western family in exchange of some rice.Here I was in a foreign country, almost 4 years old boy, weak and suffuring from bad nutrition, with the height of a 2 years old baby, and not knowing the local language at all… Now in the care of my foster family things got worst. I got beaten up regularly until police intervention. The only thing that helped me get through these hard times was my iron will determination and conviction that I was made for greater things. When I said I wanted to join the Air Force Academy, everybody told me: “It can’t be done, and it’s so difficult to go in. Only 126 places for over 13,000 applicants, don't do it.” I never let this get to me. I had a strong belief that I could do it, and I wasn’t ready to let anybody tell me the opposite. I took the entrance test and … failed. Failed… no, I never saw it that way, I gain experience, I wasn’t prepared enough. That wasn’t the end for me, just the beginning. I set myself to study more, and re-apply once more. Once again, people were saying: ” Why do you waste your time?” I didn’t listen to them. I went, took my test, and passed and graduated with honor as one of the top 3 on over 13,000 applicants! Me, the one they said that I couldn’t do it! A few years later, I was military world champion of push up (record beaten up by one of my friend who got him a place in the guiness), me, the weak sick child, I was suddendly one of the strongest men in the world! After an accident, I got to wear glasses. I wanted to become a Sniper, sure enough, my parents told me “Never think about becoming a sniper with your eyesight problems.” 6 months later, I was the first person with glasses to be certified as a Sniper. I used to flip through car magazines when I was young, and see my foster parents saying “You’ll never be able to afford one of them!”, I also heard some other people saying that asians only respects older businessmen, I have no chance and should just be looking for a job. By the time I was 23, I went back to my home country (Korea), and was President & CEO of a multinational corporation, making millions, affording cars way better than the one I once used to dream of in the magazines, and was revered on cover of a business magazine “People of the Week” who usually only features old ministers and others.” I ALWAYS BEAT THE ODDS BECAUSE I ALWAYS BELIEVED I COULD DO IT! You must have faith in yourself and in what you are doing! If you can unleash this inner strength, you’ll be unstoppable. You must shift your paradigm! You must think positive ALL THE TIME!, You must develop a positive attitude, and always believe YOU CAN DO IT! The only person who can stop you is yourself! When I see that somebody extraordinary, succeed to make $100,000 in 3 months, I get excited. I don’t see that person as extraordinary, just as another person who worked for what he/she believed. And then, what get me excited, is the fact that if this person can do it, there’s no reason why I couldn’t! That person is a proof that it can be done, and if it can be done, then I CAN DO IT TOO!
