How Much Should I Tip My Limo Driver?
There are different opinions on the mater, but there is some common ground as well. Normally, it's smart to tip somewhere between 15 and 20 percent. So, yes, it runs about the same that you would tip the waitress or waiter. Having said that, there's room to exercise your own discretion when you're tipping. If you think the chauffeur did an outstanding job, you want to tip a bit more as a way of thanking him for a great job. Perhaps 22 or even 25 percent would be in line. However, don't be afraid to go with the minimal 15 percent if you think the driver should have done a better job with the drive. One thing you should consider when you're thinking about how much to tip is whether or not the driver was on time, A good limo driver not only should be on time, but he should actually be there ahead of time to make sure that everything runs as smoothly as it can. Also, consider if the driver was courteous. A good driver will never make you feel like you're wasting his time or are an imposition on him. He should seem grateful for having you as a guest, and should be willing to cater to your reasonable requests. But tipping considerations go further than just what you think of the driver. He should also be adequately trained and certified. If not, you are justified in showing your disapproval through your tip. Also, the driver must show that he knows the local area and can get you where you want to go with few headaches. Your trip should never feel awkward or uncomfortable, and you should never be made to worry that the driver is driving carelessly or too fast. Drivers are taught that one of the number one priorities is the safety of their passengers. So if you don't feel safe, the driver is not doing his job well. And you can express your feelings in the tip. If you find that your driver was sadly lacking in several respects, you not only should show your feelings through your tipping, but you should also contact the limo company and voice a complaint. Most limo companies try to provide only the best possible drivers, and they will want to know if someone is not measuring up to the company's standards. But don't let all of this talk worry you. In most instances, you'll find that you genuinely like your driver. If so, it's a nice gesture to call the company and tell the company how much you appreciated your chauffeur. This way, the best drivers will be rewarded with more work. Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com |
