How Much Walking Is Enough To Lose Weight? Learn How To Do It Effectively And Become Skinny Fast!

Whether you intend to lose weight and become skinny fast, or just to keep healthy, walking can do you a favor. But the method of walking that you do would be different based on what your goals are.

If you want to lose weight by walking, here is how you do it.

Get a pedometer and start keeping count of your steps.

A typical workday in the office would require you to make somewhere between 3,000 to 4,000 steps per day. If your goal is to stay healthy, you should make at least 10,000 steps per day. This would be equivalent to 30 minutes of physical activities. But if you want to lose weight, you should at least make 15,000 to 20,000 steps per day.

A pedometer is a useful devise to keep track of your goals. Although a pedometer is not perfectly fool proof, (for example a bumpy ride in a car may be considered as a step) it is a fairly good indicator. You can get a decent pedometer for $25 to $40 range. It is recommended that you wear the pedometer from the moment you leave your bed. Wear it for a week to get your average steps a day.

If your average steps per day fall short of the goal, start ramping it up. Start adding about 2,000 steps per day to begin with. You will soon be able to reach your goals. Having said that, just doing the steps for the goal's sake would not be sufficient. You need to consider the intensity of your walk as well. This is because the more intense your walk is, i.e. swinging your arms fast will help you to burn more calories. Walking up the stairs is another good way to increase the intensity of your steps.

So the next time you walk somewhere, let it be a weight loss session for you!
