How Much Do Ppi Companies Charge?

Should you pay a service to reclaim the PPI payments which may be denied to you? Some might assume that the costs of such a service are not worth paying. Often, this is because they do not know the exact cost of what a reclaiming service might charge. Or, they might not see the value of such a service in comparison to its costs. Rather than maintain a false impression of these services based on assumptions, let’s take a closer look at what are the actual costs associated with these services.

No one likes to pay for Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) but they will frequently do so as a preventive measure. In the case of a disaster scenario where you lose your job, you become incapacitated, or other problem that impacts your potential to earn an income, you will need to meet your debt obligations. Such debts could be credit cards, loans, mortgages, and other obligations. This is where a PPI policy is so helpful. It provides the much needed coverage which could help save you in the case of a dire calamity that undermines your ability to meet your monthly loan payments.

Or will it? Sadly, the same lending institution which charge clients for PPI coverage and then seek to default on making promised payments. Often, a rule will be cited that reflects the notion that the policy has been breached.

Thankfully, the law allows you to make a claim for refund compensation on payments if you feel you have been denied due to being mis-sold the coverage. Yet, being afforded the opportunity to make a claim and doing it in proper manner are two different things. As such, you may actually harm yourself if you try to fill out the application on your own. You just may lack the experience to handle these things properly.

So, you have to go to a PPI reclaiming company. What will all this cost? The answer will depend on the particular service provider.

You will generally not be charged a flat fee for the reclaiming of your funds. Rather, the process will entail being charged a percentage of the claim that is procured and recovered. Upfront fees may be requested and it could prove to be a wise plan to avoid dealing with services that ask for an upfront fee. The issue here is that you want the service to work hard for you. When a flat fee or a down payment is made, you might find the service does not put in the required effort to truly work on your behalf.

The fees that will be charged can range from 25% to 35% plus any applicable VAT tax may be charged by the reclaiming service. There are certain services that claim to offer very low rates such as 10% or 15%. The problem here is there may be additional fees which come with such claims of low rates. So, be sure that you are well aware of what the full and total cost percentage you will be charged by the service prior to entering into any agreements.

One thing to note is that in addition to getting you PPI back, you may also be able to get overdraft and late charges refunded. Refunds on these charges make the higher percentages potentially worth it in the end.
