How Thought Leads To Action
The most highly developed mind that we know of is the human mind. The human mind can be divided into two distinct categories. The first category is the conscious or objective mind. This is the division of the mind which thinks, reasons, plans, and takes direct action. It is also often referred to as the ego. The ego forms conclusions, and these conclusions are sent down to the second level of the mind, called the subconscious or the unconscious. The subconscious mind has great power. For one, it handles all the automatic functions of your body, like breathing, metabolism, heart, digestion. The subconscious mind also listens to, and acts on, the suggestions and conclusions sent to it through the filter of the objective mind. And while the ego thinks, and reasons, and forms conclusions, the subconscious mind simply acts on what is suggested to it. If you send evil thoughts through the filter of the ego into the subconscious mind, then eventually you will get an evil result. If you send thoughts of weakness and lack, then that will be the energy and intention which the subconscious mind will send back to you. Many people imagine that they can secretly entertain negative desire. However, eventually the subconscious mind will increase the negative desire to the point where it can no longer be contained. Many people are surprised to hear of the colossal crash of celebrities. How could they throw everything away for drugs, or sex, or whatever their vice happens to be? It happens because for years, secret desires build up and build up until they explode into action. The subconscious mind is very powerful. What does this teach us? Simply put, human beings have the power to control their life by controlling the thoughts that filter into their subconscious mind. In order to have the giant which is the subconscious mind work for you, instead of against you, then you have to give it the right instructions. This can only be done by diligently practicing affirmations and denials, and by spending quality time spending time in the silence, imagining the highest and best life we can imagine. You become what you meditate upon. If you meditate upon thoughts of success, achievement, love, happiness, joy, peace, good health, then your subconscious mind will increase your desire and energy to bring these good things into your life. If you meditate upon thoughts of lack, or disease, or worry, or anxiety, then the energy released will make these things manifest tin your life. You must look at your mind as a fortress, and you must guard carefully the thoughts you allow to enter. We often imagine that we cannot control the impulsive thoughts which enter our minds, but this is not true. With practice, you can kill evil or negative thoughts with denials, and affirm their opposites. In time, this skill, if practiced faithfully, will become second nature.
