How To Astral Projection

Astral projection is a topic that draws curiosity from some, fear from others and flat out criticism from those unenlightened. Astral projection is ultimately a simple concept that can be achieved by learning some basic steps. There is nothing whatsoever to fear, it's an ability we are all born with regardless of your belief of the origin.

Beginning Steps

Researcher Monroe offered some straight forward steps that can be practiced to help achieve the state of mind required. Try to remember that everyone's experience will be slightly different and while these steps will help you, you experience should, and will, vary slightly. However if you follow these steps odds are you will be successful, perhaps not instantly, but with practice.

Start by finding a comfortable place in your home free of distraction. Make sure you are in a stable and relaxed position. This can be laying down or in a comfortable seated position. You may fall asleep by accident so make sure you are secure in your resting spot.

Relaxation

Start breathing deeply and focus on getting your body into a relaxed state. Thats the goal of this step, simply breath, focus on it, and get very very relaxed. The idea is to get your mind and body in sync, focused and calm. If deep breathing doesn't work for you, then gradual and controlled muscle relaxations are another thing to try. As you begin to fully relax you will find the edge of consciousness. Your mind will be awake,but your body will be in a state of rest, almost asleep. Once you have achieved this, it's time to put your mind to work.

Clear Your Mind - Key Stage

This is the most difficult stage. Do not be frustrated or impatient if this takes numerous attempts to achieve it, it's rarely instant. You must completely clear your mind of all earthly and corporeal thoughts. The awareness of your body will fall away and you will find you are functioning only with your mind, it may seem somewhat dreamlike. This is a key state to find yourself in. You may experience tingling, vibration or a buzzing as you pass through this stage. This is normal and expected.

The Last Step

At this point, you will be free to separate from the physical realm. Some find it's easiest to roll out of the physical body, some find it easiest to imagine climbing a rope and others merely drift upward like a helium balloon. Whatever mind picture works for you is what you need to do. At this point, you are free to begin exploring the Astral Realms. You have achieved separation. That's all there is to it. Just repeat, repeat, repeat until you achieve it. It won't happen instantly, so take your time. The benefits of relaxation and meditation in and of themselves will give you enormous benefit. Remember that getting to know your inner self is an important thing to do by itself.

If you follow these key steps and practice, you will achieve your goal. Be patient with yourself, this is a life long experience and the journeys will be unparalleled, but give yourself time and don't be afraid to try often. Like all good things it takes practice.
