How To Be Imaginative With Your Postcard Printing
1. Going beyond the usual images – If you print color postcards, you will probably be trapped in the usual idea of taking nice, clear and simple pictures. It might be a nice scenic view, a photograph with a model, or maybe just simple text with a product you are promoting. While of course these kinds of postcard designs are good, after a while they can be boring. When your postcards get boring, they can become pretty forgettable and ineffective at doing their job. That is why you may want to go beyond the usual images in your postcards. You might want to test adding special color effects like special sepia tones, or even colored filters and textures effects. You might also want to compose your images a little bit more differently. Instead of nice framed and proper features, you might want to test using different camera angles, changing to more complex objects as your subjects, and generally going a little bit more artistic and innovative. Just add something to your postcard cover that is beyond the usual and you’ll get a more interesting color postcard than what you usually produce. 2. Using a different kind of message approach – Beyond the images though, you might want to use a different kind of approach in terms of your message. For example, you probably should not use that typical greeting or marketing message. Try to adding a nice and witty joke, a profound statement/ quotation or maybe even a mysterious phrase that people will find interesting. If you are having trouble think of these kinds of images, don’t worry. Just look for great and funny quotes and statements on the Internet. There are plenty of interesting messages which you can probably use for your postcard printing there. As long as the message is something people don’t usually expect in color postcards, you should be on the right track in being imaginative with your postcard printing. 3. Integrating unusual printing techniques – Finally, if you really want to add that extra imagination for your postcards, you might want to integrate some unusual printing techniques. Adding special metallic inks, extra postcard folds, or maybe even using unusual glow in the dark materials or embossing can add that extra factor that makes your postcards unique. If you really want to be noticed with your color postcards this is the way to go. Just make sure that you integrate these techniques in a tasteful way so that it looks quite imaginative for the postcard and not just something for showing off. So those are the three major ways that you can be imaginative about in your postcard printing. Hopefully you can use these ideas to improve your color postcards. Good Luck!
