How To Begin Writing Fiction
There are various ways of doing this. You can either do this with a specialized writing software. Or, you can use a word processor that enables you to create outlines. Once your outline is created, you can begin filling in the details. It is not necessary that a plot follow in a specific order. In fact, some books thrive on basically being plotless. There are many different ways to tell a story. Some authors like to write in sequential order, starting with the beginning of the story and continuing on to the end. Others will start at the end of the story and then use the rest of the novel explaining how we arrived at that point. The key thing is that there is no right or wrong. Best selling novels are written with all types of structures. When writing fiction, In addition to the basic plot, their are a number of factors that teachers will usually tell their writing students to focus on. Among these are the various characters, the individual scenes, and the beginning and the end of chapters. And even though each of these things is important, what you must really try to do as a writer is to get into your readers mind and hook him with your story. In order to do this, you have to do more than simply create a plot. You have to also tell your story in a way that practically forces the reader to go from chapter to chapter. If you can do that, and nothing else, your reader will be so invested in your novel that he won't be able to put it down. And something that your story absolutely has to have is a protagonist. And one that the reader is able to identify with. Your protagonist or lead character is the primary person that the story is built around. A story can have more than one lead character but, normally, the writer will highlight one main character and allow the reader to follow his adventures and interactions with other characters in the novel. The best writers will be able to write even the most evil and vile characters in such a way that the reader will still for a strong bond with him. Unless the reader does form a bond with the character, he will never be drawn into the story in any emotional way. Every good fiction writer has multiple sets of rules that he follows. And, for each writer, that specific set of rules may differ greatly. And even though a novice fiction writer will initially rely on tips from a variety of writers that he admires, if he hopes to advance as a writer, eventually he will have to develop his own unique style.
