How To Care For Dry Skin Internally & Externally

If your body is fit and healthy on the inside then it is quite likely that this will show on the outside and your face and skin as a whole will just be radiant.

On the other hand if your body is sick on the inside then this will reflect on the outside, an your skin could look dull, dry, lacking colour and generally not very healthy.


Now you should always be working to make sure that you body is healthy on the inside and this means making sure that your body can eliminate toxins and quickly and as safely as possible.

One of the first things that you need to do is to make sure that you are drinking lots of water and as well as this you need to be making sure that you are eating a well balanced diet so as to give your body essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Now you can take multivitamins in tablet form, but this is not the same as get vitamins from the source.

Also make sure that you are getting enough exercise, that makes your heart rate increase. Thirty minutes of brisk walking is more than sufficient but you need to make sure that your are getting your heart rate up.

If you take part in what are considered social activities such as smoking and drinking then these will also cause a drying effect on your skin and you are more than likely to see the development of wrinkles at an early stage. But you need to remember that if the body is damaged on the inside this will show on the outside.

Smoking does damage the body internally, and it is not accident that a lot of smokers generally do have bad skin, as well as bad teeth, which are often stained with the nicotine.

Even if you have done all that you can to help your body on the inside, then you are still going to have to help your skin from the outside and for that you will need a good dry skin care routine that will help to hydrate your skin and to restore lost moisture.

Some of the basic products that you will need include:

Cleanser – use this if you find that the majority of your skin is dry, and only use a cleanser that is designed specifically for dry skin

Moisturiser – this needs to be used all over the face and neck and this needs to be absorbed quickly into the skin

Night cream – when you cleanse your skin at night, you should use an intense night cream

In addition to what has been mentioned above there are some things that you should also avoid in order to help restore dry skin in to skin that is radiant and healthy:

Stay away from soaps – as these can have a drying effect on the skin

Stay away from astringents as these are generally alcohol based and alcohol causes dehydration

The weather is a problem if you have dry skin so you need to ensure you have products that are suitable for use in all seasons.

Following these steps alone will see that your skin is getting the best care possible.
