How To Control Panic Attacks And Anxiety For Good

Have you ever experienced a sudden burst of fear causing your heart to beat wildly? You are totally fine one moment and then the next, you are struck with an intense anxiety and you feel like something terrible is going to happen. This situation is called panic attack, a condition wherein a person becomes overly anxious, sometimes for no apparent reason at all.

This may happen to you at one point in your life but if you repeatedly go through the same condition, it's not normal. You may be suffering from a panic disorder.

To control panic attacks, you need to learn how to relax especially in difficult situations. The best way to relax is to take slow, deep breaths that are coming from your abdomen. If you are breathing with your chest, that is not a good sign. Nervousness is often associated with breathing with the chest. Sit upright or lie down and pay close attention to your body. Take extra effort to breathe with your chest because it is a great relaxant that can control panic attacks.

If you are with someone and you feel the need to be alone, don't hesitate to leave. Most of the time, panic attack sufferers get claustrophobic when there are people around. It's okay to leave to give yourself some space. You can explain yourself later on.

If being with another person doesn't bother you at all while you're going through a panic attack, you can use that to your advantage and control panic attacks. Tell that person that you're in the midst of an attack and ask for his help. Oftentimes, simply talking to another human being greatly relieves the extra weight you're carrying and may just be the right cure that you're looking for.
