How is procrastination related to NLP?

There are so much relation between NLP and the procrastination. First you need to view procrastination as a byproduct of the mind. What makes procrastination such a pain for many is that it is an age old habit that over the times forms as part of your SOP in life. As a procrastinator, you have learned to love and function with procrastination ever since you pick up the habit. Habits are functioning SOP that works in the subconscious level of your mind, which means you will do that sequence of process without you being aware of it. That would dictate you to be reactive rather than responsive, your subconscious mind works really fast when it comes to familiar inputs like mowing the lawn, washing the dishes or bringing the dog out for a walk. The procrastinator's mind would have long labeled such tasks as undesirable and switch on a sequent of procrastination that usually involve finding reasons or excuses not to do them. It may seem complex to carry out the procrastination sequent but the subconscious mind know exactly how to carry them out in the quickest and painless fashion that is invisible to the conscious mind.

NLP is designed to deals with the bad habits like procrastination within the subconscious mind program. In NLP, the process of relearning has to go through 4 stages:

1. Unconscious incompetence - This is where most chronic procrastinators reside in, they are completely unaware of the existence of their procrastinating habit.

2. Conscious incompetence- By the time you start to notice your procrastinating habit and start to read this article to look for a solution to your procrastinating problem, you have progressed to this stage. You know you got a problem but do not know how to solve it.

3. Conscious competence- At this future stage for most aspiring procrastinators, they have found solutions to their problem and have actively working to tackle the problem. However, they still need lots of conscious effort and time to work through their procrastinating problem whenever they pop up in life.

4. Unconscious competence- The conscious mind has completely hand over the task of tackling procrastination over to the subconscious mind. The ex-procrastinator has turn over a completely new leaf and is now a true blue motivator - a power house that is directed toward his/her own goal.

NLP is used specifically to help those to be completely free from procrastination and become the person that is ever motivated toward excellence. However, it is not a magic tablet that you can swallow and become the person you desire tomorrow. You are right, there are lots of hard work and massive action in the right direction and it is NLP that will provide you with the direction toward mastering your own destiny.
