How To Easily Get Free Search Engine Traffic

There are many ways of driving traffic to your web page, however, there are certain steps that are needed to obtain a top search engine position, as well as many pitfalls that should be avoided. If you do not want to spend a fortune on pay per click traffic, you can get the same or, many times better results with organic search engine rankings.
In fact, when you drive traffic to a website via pay per click, the traffic stops the instant you stop paying for clicks. This happens a great deal, especially when the advertiser is not skilled in pay per click methods. With free, or organic traffic methods, a system is put into place and continues to drive traffic to a particular site with no ongoing cost. A very critical area to concentrate on is keyword relevance. This means that the keywords you are targeting need to be extremely relevant to the landing page they are linked to. The first priority that a search engine has is to take the searcher to a web page that is about "dog training for Beagles" when they search for that exact phrase. If your keyword takes a visitor to a page about "how to become a circus dog trainer", they are not getting the results they were after. This is not what the person performing the search, or the company providing the engine, wants.

We used to hear about "keyword density" all of the time when discussing SEO, but try loading a page full of a certain word or phrase and you will quite possibly lose some search rankings. We really need to offer the search engines what they are asking for, and not try to force ourselves upon them.

Another area of importance is page layout, or design.

Try to think of your website as an instruction manual, meaning, design your site to be easily spidered by the search engines. Use a heiarchy type approach, starting with your main content, or key phrase, and then drill down as far as you like, keeping higher relevant topics linked together.
