In the modern age of technology, graphic design careers are becoming more and more in demand and it seems as if new graphic design schools are popping up everywhere. Although there are many schools, there are also many candidates for this growing field. In order to be accepted to the most competitive schools, it is necessary to prepare long in advance.

Before a student even applies to a school for graphic design, they need to start thinking about what will make them a competitive candidate. The most fundamental step is making sure that the candidate has excellent grades in every institution leading up to their application, whether it is high school or college. Even if a student studied something completely different in college, their grades are an indicator of their commitment to academics.

Part of the application process, at most schools that teach graphic design, is an interview. This gives the selection committee a chance to bring the candidate’s application to life and get more information about things that may have been only brushed over on paper. When these things are paired with strong recommendations, candidates should have no problem impressing the selection board.
