How To Have Your Money Working For You So You Don’t Have To Work For Your Money

Having your money work for you so you don’t have to work for your money. How cool would that be? I don’t think that I know one person who wouldn’t love to be in that situation, especially as unemployment rates skyrocket to new highs…

In many of Robert Kiyosaki ‘s books and writing he talks about the three types of education that many people think are required to be financially successful in life; scholastic, professional and financial. Let’s talk a bit about each.

Scholastic Education: This is what we know as traditional learning. It’s what we learn in school..the three R’s; Reading Writing and Arithmetic. Is it important? I say absolutely and I find myself being very much like Mr. Kiyosaki’s Poor Dad with my 9 year old daughter. I have to catch myself when she doesn’t bring home the perfect grades that I know that she is capable of. But knowing what I know now, while I still push for the good grades and the thoughts of college and beyond, I also bring to her thoughts of her possibly owning her own business at a very young age. She is very much a part of my home enterprise and contributes to it almost daily. I hope that I am instilling the values and the thoughts of Mr. Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad because no matter where my daughter takes her life, she will need the mindset of Rich Dad to have her money work for her so she won’t have to work for her money if…. she doesn’t want to.

Professional Education: This education teaches you how to work for your money; trading your time for your dollars. I was there for longer than I care to admit, and sometimes I downright kick myself for not coming to the place that I am currently in sooner. But, as they say, timing is everything. No matter how much money you make (or how little) if you work for someone else, you are on someone else’s schedule and are trading your time for your dollars. In the past you might have said, yes, but I have a guaranteed job and income. But it is 2008; can you say that statement with a straight face? Do you have the job security that we have known in the past? Rich Dad teaches you that you don’t need to rely on corporate America any longer. Think about how freeing that can be for you and your family.

Financial Education: This is the education where you learn to have your money work for you rather than you work for money. Financial Education Is not taught in most of our schools and because we have not been financially educated on how to invest and manage our money, we are now in the economic mess that we are currently in. Did you know that the average 50 year old person has less than $50,000.00 saved for their retirement? It is actually estimated that you will need about One Million dollars in your savings account to have a $3000.00 per month income for retirement and yes that is before taxes. The average 50 year old has a long way to go for retirement. Rich Dad said if you have poor financial education, you will always work for the rich. And with the daunting statistics that we have..people will be working further and further into their 60’s and 70’s for the rich.

In Robert Kiyosaki’s bestselling book Cash Flow Quadrant he talks about the two ways of living life. You can either live life in the rat race, which is where people with their J.O.B’s live. They are building debt and living from pay check to pay check. Or you can live life in the fast lane. He describes the fast lane as being an entrepreneur and learning how to invest your money to work for you; so you don’t have to work for your money. The challenge is that most of us have been business people and employees for our entire life and many times cannot easily make the transfer to being an entrepreneur no matter how successful we were in the corporate world.

He suggests that if you fall into this category, that you might want to consider becoming an entrepreneur through the direct sales industry. What he likes about the direct sales industry is that they teach from experience and not just from a theory. They teach you become entrepreneurs and not just employees. He also likes that the good leaders teach the mental and emotional attitudes required to be successful in the real world. I don’t know about you, but when I was in Corporate America I had a lot of training and not once did I receive training on having the correct mental attitude of success, wealth and abundance.

If you partner with the correct direct sales industry, it can be a way of sharing the wealth with anyone who truly wants to acquire great wealth. Having your own business in the direct sales industry is open to anyone and I mean anyone who has the drive, determination and perseverance to make their business succeed. What is so beautiful is that it doesn’t matter if you are a female or male, old or young, college educated or not. If you are willing to learn, change, adapt, and to grow and to make the decision that nothing but success is going to be yours, then..success will be yours.

So, take a look at the Rich Dad and the Poor Dad in your mind and soul. Which Dad are you going to follow..the one who trades time of dollars and doesn’t have a lot of security in their job these days or are you going to follow the Rich Dad that I know is in your heart and start to live in the fast lane; learning how to get your money to work for you so you don’t have to work for your money. The choice is yours.
