How To Improve Your Search Engine Ranking With Title Tags!

Title tags play a key role in how many times your site is displayed for a search. Many people do not understand that the content of a title is what appears after a search as a hyperlink. They are just as important as the copy on your site and the backlinks that take so much time to acquire.

Many webmasters just don't take the time to optimize their tags, even if it means more targeted traffic.A Title Tag should include the following:

- The name of your company. Just don't put your company name in the beginning of the tag. It can be very important to include your company name if it is well known. Even if it's not well known, still include it so it gets some exposure. Also add some descriptive phrases so that those who know your name will find you and those who have not heard of your company can find you through your services or products.

- Specific keyword phrases. Researching the best keyword phrases for your site is a good way to get the best traffic. Start your title tag off with a specific keyword phrase. Limit your title tag to ten to twelve words. Every character can be important, since Google limits the length to seventy characters.

- Catchy content. Having a high ranking doesn't mean that you will get a lot of traffic. What really matters is how many people actually visit your site. What your listing looks like after it appears from a search is vital to your business success.

- Use action words. Follow your main keyword phrase with an action word (verb) and a different version of your keyword phrase. Wouldn't it be nice to rank on more then one search query? Here is an example: Free Advertising Resources

Avoid making your title sound like an ad or the title of an article. Save the long descriptions for the headline on your page and keep your tag short and to the point.

Don't worry if the search engines are cutting off your title tag when it's displayed, all the words are still getting indexed.

A title tag can never be perfect. By testing different versions of your title tag you can find the one that performs best for your business. All the information that you need for your title should be found in the content of your website. Re-write the information from your site to make it unique to the title. Your websites actual heading on the page should also be unique.

Search engine optimization involves a alot more then just the title tags. Most important of all is to make sure that your website contains useful information that will encourage visitors to keep coming back!i
