If you want to know how to learn Italian you need to determine your goals right from the start. First, ask yourself what is your purpose for learning the language. Is it for a vacation? Just to get by or merely to satisfy your curiosity? Or will it be important to your career? Your purpose determines the right method for you. It determines your expectations as well. Before signing up for a program check first whether their learning outcomes match your personal goals.

Usually these programs are categorized into different levels of difficulty. The classes are also set up with a certain amount of hours per week. Based on your schedule, you may opt for a once a week class or a twice a week schedule. They also have evening classes that are suitable for those who work or go to college during the day.

Knowing what you want early on helps you achieve your goal more efficiently by choosing the right program. In addition to these classes, there are several methods you can apply as well. Choose different reading materials on how to learn Italian. Most schools provide very basic grammar lessons or phrase books for beginners.
