Edamame is perhaps the most famous and healthiest Japanese finger food that is loved not only by Japanese people but Americans as well. How do you prepare these soybeans?
You can prepare them by following these instructions:
1. Wash the pods and drain them well.
2. Rub them with salt.
3. Boil water in a huge pot and add one tablespoon of salt.
4. Cook the soybeans for 3 to 4 minutes and then drain them again.
5. Arrange the pods in a tray for cooling. Sprinkle more salt on top if you so desire.
• One pound of edamame can serve approximately 4 persons.

What is its nutritive content?
The soybeans have high protein and dietary fiber content. They are also rich in vitamins namely, vitamins A, B and C.

When are they ideally eaten?
The combination of protein with vitamins B1 and C reacts with alcohol well. So this can be the best finger food during a beer drinking session. Or they can be consumed anytime you feel like eating them.
