How To Make Money With Google Adsense - Tips On Making Money Online As A Content Publisher

A lot of people have heard of it but knowing how to make money with Google Adsense is a skill in itself. Now, it's not that difficult to make money as a publisher providing you have some vital components in place.

What Is Google Adsense?

It's a monetization method that webmasters can put in place to earn a revenue online. It's based on a pay per click model, which involves placing a bit of Javascript code on pages of your site where you want Adsense to appear. When a visitor to your site sees an ad he/she is interested in, you get paid a percentage of the revenue Google earns from the advertiser.

So what exactly do you need to get going? Here is a checklist together with some tips.

1. The first thing you need is a website. You don't necessarily have to own this website but it should offer quality content and be suitable for monetization with Adsense. If you don't own your own website, you can either build one or sign up with a free platform such as Blogger which also allows you to monetize that online real estate. I recommend purchasing your own domain if you can afford it so you have control over the assets you are creating online.

Once you have a website with quality content you can apply to Google and partner with them as a publisher.

2. Content - Adsense is a contextual advertising form of monetization. In order to display relevant ads and to operate within Terms of Service, you need content on the pages of your site in order to put the code on those pages and make money when a visitor clicks on an advertisers ad.

3. Traffic - As this is a pay per click business model, you need traffic coming to your site in order to make any money. Remember advertisers are placing these ads because they also want to make money from what they are offering online, so your website traffic needs to be targeted and the ads need to be relevant to what your visitor is searching for.

Now it's important not to build a website purely for the purpose of putting Adsense on it. This is classed as MFA ( Made For Adsense ). Your website should be of value to your visitor and also offer them more than one option. If you just plaster Adsense all over your site and nothing else, you are unwittingly creating a site that has obviously been made for the purpose of putting Adsense on it. Give your visitor a quality experience and provide them with options on your pages.

If you really want to learn how to make money with Google Adsense, I also recommend some other things to do including choosing a good niche and doing some keyword research before you create your site content. Ideally you also want your site to be themed around a given niche and not content about unrelated topics. It is also prudent to choose a high paying niche which has advertisers rather than a niche which may be low paying with little or no advertiser interest.
