How To Quit Smoking To Stop Staining Your Teeth

Smoking cigarettes contributes and increases the chances of staining your teeth as well as increasing the chances of tooth decay and other related gum diseases. Smoking can even increase the chances of cancers to the throat and mouth, sometimes leaving the smoker disfigured for life and without the use of the voice box. Although these may appear to be horror stories or tactics to encourage you to quit smoking, the dangers are far greater and fatal than just receiving stains on your pearly whites if you smoke.

You can use home remedies such as baking soda, lemon juice and rind to remove some of the stains but if you continue to smoke and use these ingredients you’ll probably end up with side effects from excessive use of these home methods. Whilst these methods are popular for removing stains on your teeth they also have the side effects of stripping the enamel off your teeth therefore exposing you to the possibility of tooth decay. At the end of the day its a lose lose situation for the smoker to remove the stains on a regular basis especially if he or she continues to smoke. Your other option is to visit your dentist but over time the costs will be pretty expensive and they will probably pressure you by recommending that you quit smoking too.

Even though you probably don’t want to hear it, your best option is to quit smoking. If you use the right method or program the process doesn’t have to be stressful or even painful. Look at it this way, if you contract a smoking related cancer the last thing you are going to be concerned about are the stains on your teeth from smoking cigarettes! I dare say your biggest concern will be the remainder of your life and how long it will last.
