How To Repair Your Credit For A San Diego Mortgage
First, get credit reports. Three, to be exact. There are three major credit reporting agencies in the country, and all of them offer free credit reports every year. Get all of them for comparison, to figure out if there are any inconsistencies, anomalies, or mistakes. If there are mistakes, take note of each one, and then send the report back to the credit reporting companies for correction. A good percentage of credit reports actually have mistakes, and if yours is one of them, correcting these mistakes will often lead to an improvement in the credit score. It is very rare, however, that these mistakes will turn the tide and totally improve a person's credit score. So the next step is to settle, as best as possible, any past due accounts. Unpaid accounts will also have a negative effect on a person's credit score, so paying them as best as possible is a good thing. Charge-offs should be the most immediate, focusing next on bringing any maxed out credit cards below the credit limit. This can be done by paying off what you can, or by agreeing to a deal with the credit card company. These steps should be enough to get the ball rolling to finally begin improving the finances of the person. There are many more steps that can be done, but these first couple of actions can set the foundations for further improvements in the future.
