How To Sell Ringtones

Ringtones have become a massive market over the past decade. The increase in cell phone users can be attributed to this growth. It is a rather competitive market, but that is not to say that you cannot compete in it. I don’t really recommend selling ringtones on your own in the beginning, because royalties must be paid out to record companies, and it’s really not a simple process to go through. However, there are alternatives available if you want to get into this industry.

The alternative that I think is the best for people who have no experience within this industry is to sell ringtones for somebody else. This is called Affiliate Marketing and it has a number or pros and cons. The biggest benefit is the fact that you don’t have to deal with the customers. You simply send potential customers over to the company that you are an affiliate for. If they decide to purchase something, you get a commission, sometimes up to 75% of the purchase price. If the customer has questions, technical issues, or any other problems that you could think of, the company deals with them directly just as they would any other customer. You just get to collect your money, and move on. Some of the downsides of this method are that you don’t get to keep all the profits, you only get a cut. But, I think the positives definitely outweigh the negatives.

So how do we go about sending leads over to an affiliate company that we have signed up for? There are numerous options available for us to generate leads. I prefer to build websites around ‘buying’ keywords. What I mean is I will do keyword research and find a term that gets searched around a 1000 times a month or so, I would then make sure this term has little competition, and I would also make sure it is a buying keyword, like ‘buy music for my phone’. I would build a website using these keywords, and work to get it to rank high in the search engines. If I successfully ranked like I wanted too, I would be generating leads from highly targeted traffic. I could write an article on the website titled, ‘Review Of Ringtone Company’. This would obviously be a review of the company I am affiliated with; it would contain links to them, so that when the visitor clicked the links and purchased something, I would earn my commission on the sale. I highly recommend doing some more research on how to perform effective keyword research. This method works if you put the effort into it.

There are certainly other ways to go about promoting a service or product. But, this is the way I prefer to go about it. It is cheap, effective, and has long-term potential for generating profits for your business. Natural search engine traffic is without a doubt the best form of traffic you can get on a website. They are much more likely to be buyers than other forms of traffic. The important thing is to keep testing things until you find something that works well for you. It took me a long time to discover a method that is truly effective for me, but once you do, things get a lot easier from that point on.
