How To Write A Book

Step1

Prepare materials: laptop, paper, pen (whatever that works). All of these must be handy and ready whenever you get to your writing pattern.

Step2

Get rid of all distractions such your iPod, pets, mobile phones and even food. They tend to divert your attention to what is actually important.

Step3

Establish a writing schedule and time. One hour is the least that you can allocate for writing. Placing an hourglass in front of you is adding pressure so you wouldn’t want any of that. Alarms work best.

Step4

Write, write, write.

Step5

Edit, edit, edit.

I believe that the best way to write is to write freely. Being uninhibited with your writing can actually develop your writing skills because as you go along, you will create your own style and cultivate the kind of association that your readers will identify of your writing.

Jessica Clark mentioned in her column that “you may even need to take it one word at a time”. To write, you have to start now.
