It has been said that toys such as pretend play kitchens provide a child with the tools they need to enhance their social skills. But how is this possible? Most kids play with their pretend kitchens by themselves. They’re not socializing with anyone.
Well, these are the ways in which play kitchens help children develop and improve their social skills:
Even if a child is playing alone, they will most likely make up people or talk to their stuffed toys. When they do this, they are working on their verbal skills and they are doing such things as having conversations. The conversation is taking place in their head and they are acting out that conversation, which means they come up with responses as sensible as they can.
When playing with other children, or even with you, your child is able to communicate what it is they are doing, what they need to do, and they will use this communication to do such things as solve problems.
Yes, it is rather amazing how something so simple can do so much for the child. That is why toys are so important. A play kitchen for toddlers provides the child with different avenues to interact and have some fun. They don’t even realise that they are learning. The child things they are simply having fun and doing their thing. They are being the boss and calling the shots. Pretend play kitchens are like a productive illusion for children.
