How Do You Find An Ad Network That Is Good?
Integration All publishers need to consider whether the ad network is compatible with your ad servers. Some servers will not work on other networks. Otlix Ad Server does not have any issues with compatibility. We will serve all networks, servers, and all type of ads. We believe in full customer support and assistance in integrating. Specific Niche Market vs. General Market Otherwise known as the vertical marketing or the horizontal marketing approach there are two kinds of ad networks. In the vertical approach, they serve a niche market and provide the clearest direct path the match customer and publisher and advertiser. It is a fantastic way to ‘guarantee’ of reaching the audience and maximizing profits. Examples include Federated Media and The Deck. In the horizontal market approach, they deal with all categories and inventory. They offer huge reach potential for advertisers and publishers. Examples include AOL and ValueClick Payment Arrangements How are you going to get paid on an ad network? CPA – Cost per Acquisition You will get paid only on the complete of a process by the customers. For example, registration of a new account, or purchase of a product. Here, the compensation is high per action, but you must check the quality of the traffic and focus on action from the website. Otherwise, profits will be very little. CPM – Cost per Thousand Impressions A very popular approach. Ad networks pay a flat amount for each block of 1000 impressions or page ad views. Here the compensation is small but if the traffic is strong you can maximize profits. CPC – Cost per Click This is like the model of Google AdSense or Yahoo. Each time a customer clicks on an ad the revenue is generated. Here the quality of the ad, and the placement of the ad is the truest method to have the profits maximized. The Business Model Remember that you still will not have the complete 100% compensation regardless of CPA, CPM, and CPC. Instead, there will be reductions, and commissions and other charges. Calculate all these charges and determine the net rate. If this is 40% for example, you will need to upsell your ads with other services to recover the losses/costs of the 60%. In practical terms think of it like this: You ‘earn’ $1000 on CPA/CPM/CPC. The charges are 10% and the commissions are 50% — so, net you made $450 or 45%. Credibility and Reliability Did you check out the credit worthiness of the company you want to work with? DO they have a history of payment of services on a timely manner? Do they portray and have a history as a reputable company? You want to work with a solid reliable player. Ad Control Do you have control over your ads – you only want ads that can build business and not destroy it! Can you decide where not to display ads? In religious sensitive areas, or market sensitive areas, do you have the ability to turn off display? MediaFane Articles is powered by Otlix Ad Server solutions for Publishers and Advertisers.
