Napoleon Hill wrote those words many years ago, but they still carry a strong message even today in these challenging times, don't you agree? Particularly, for those people who are struggling to make ends meet, or find a new job.
There are not many of us who can honestly say, we have not missed an opportunity that we now regret which may have had a great impact on our lives today. After all, hindsight is a great thing and most of us didn't realize at the time the impact of that lost opportunity and how it could affect us many years later.
However, it's important we learn from our mistakes. When golden opportunities present themselves again, especially when times are hard, we must not get caught up in negative thinking. If we start to focus entirely on what we can't have, can't afford, or can't achieve, there's a danger of not even recognizing opportunity, even when it is staring us in the face. Don't let negative thinking completely take over all your thoughts, day and night as this can lead to unhappiness and depression.
You may have heard of the Law of Attraction. This is an interesting theory which states you attract what you focus on. For example, if you focus on your debts, you will attract more debts. However, if you focus on ways to pay off your debts, you'll start to attract solutions to help you pay off your debts and become more enterprising.
Who knows if this theory really works? But one thing is certain, without freeing your mind to a positive mental attitude it will be very difficult for you to recognize those golden opportunities when they present themselves before you. They could change your life forever.
