How To Change A Belt Buckle

Have you ever wondered how the dickens to remove your old belt buckle and replace it with the beautiful new belt buckle you just got? This could be a most perplexing problem if you are considering changing the buckle on a belt purposefully made with a permanent buckle in place. However, interchangeable belt buckles are fashioned with a metal loop on the back of the buckle, and a metal prong extending perpendicularly from the back of the buckle, as well. The belt, in turn, is usually made of heavier leather, with at least two (2) functioning metal snaps at one end where the leather belt has been slipped through the metal loop of the buckle.

To begin, remove the old belt buckle. First, lay your belt buckle belt, face down. Locate the belt snaps behind the buckle area. Pull back on the short belt part to unsnap them – don’t be timid -- they are meant to unsnap! Then unfold the belt, lay it flat and slide the buckle off the belt.


Next, in the same way, but reverse, refit the belt with a new belt buckle. Take your new belt buckle and lay it face down with the metal loop nearest to the belt end containing the snaps. Slide this end of the belt through the metal loop of the buckle until the buckle loop reaches the prior folded section of the belt. Now fold this belt section back to its original position, match the snaps and press them together – Snap! And Voila! The new belt buckle is now secure on your belt!
