How To Choose White Wine

Wines make dinners more delicious and more elegant, and gatherings more relaxing for the guests. When having a party, one of the must haves in your beverage selection is a good bottle of white wine. There are many interesting things to note about this favorite beverage. According to a research study done by the University of Buffalo in 2002, white wine actually has health benefits, particularly for the lungs. Drinking wine also helps increase the level of antioxidants in the blood, which help keep cells healthy and protected.

But how do you choose white wine to pair with your dishes? Because there are now many affordable brands and nice selections for white wines, it doesn’t have to be a challenge to pick a good one. Though generally red wines have more alcohol than most white wines, the latter still gives a great flavor that will perfectly accompany any dish you serve.

A very common white wine is Chardonnay, and it is also an affordable type. It has a buttery and somewhat citrus flavor, and it goes well with cream dishes, seafood, and poultry. Gewurztraminer is a type of white wine that carries the taste of honey and pears. With its medium-bodied flavor, you can drink this white wine with barbecued meats and Asian food. Another popular white wine is known as Riesling, which has a floral and also sweet fruity taste. You can pair it with bleu cheese, gorgonzola, and other mild cheeses. Riesling also goes perfectly with grilled food and seafood.

Other types of white wines you might want to explore are Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chennin Blanc, and many more. Though prices may vary, you can find a multitude of flavors that will make events extra special, and meals extra delectable.
