How To Create A Space For Entertaining
No matter what room you are working with, it’s important to create flow. Living room designs that incorporate good flow allow your guests to move around freely, which is ideal for entertaining. To create flow, it’s important to move furniture around so that people are able to move from space to space. Move sofas, tables and other furniture out of pathways. In some instances, this may require you to repurpose or simply remove unnecessary items from the room. Tip #2: Multi-Purpose Furniture If you entertain often but frequently run out of seating, consider investing in multiple purpose furniture pieces. For example, a large ottoman instead of a coffee table, which doubles as extra seating. If this isn’t an option or still does not provide you with an adequate amount of seating, consider investing in stackable chairs that can be brought out as needed whenever you are entertaining. Depending on your style, you may be able to incorporate these chairs into your living room designs, such as stackable modern fiberglass or plastic shell chairs in a mid-century modern living room. Tip #3: Remodel Accordingly If your’e remodeling specific rooms in your home, such as a den or kitchen, be sure to take these into account for those rooms. The kitchen design ideas that you choose should reflect your need for room when it comes to entertaining. This could include an island or a peninsula that has additional seating. In a den design, it may include a wet bar area or a table and chairs. Tip #4: Versatile Interior Design Remember that while it may be difficult to add new furniture to accommodate guests, you can always remove furniture, if only temporarily, to accommodate guests. For example, large parties may require you to clear out some of your furniture in order to make space for mingling. Have a plan in place before hand in which you incorporate a good interior design plan with a space to relocate your furniture or other items until the party is over. This could include something as simple as sliding the coffee table onto your bed for the evening to create additional space.
