The quality of what you eat and drink has a direct impact on the chemical processes that your body needs to function properly. If these processes are not working correctly you will feel unwell (e.g. unclear thinking, poor memory, lack of energy, depression) and left untreated there is a higher risk that you will eventually develop serious health conditions (e.g. obesity, type 2 diabetes, cancer, dementia).
You can reduce your risk and feel great by consuming more organic vegetables and fruit, unsaturated fats (e.g. Omega 3), low Glycemic Index foods and filtered/bottled water. Consuming less (or eliminating) sugar, fast foods, saturated fats, soft drinks and alcohol will reduce the toxic stress on your body. Matching the quantity you consume with your level of physical activity will control your body weight but just going on a calorie controlled diet is an ineffective long term strategy. The quality of what you eat is more important than the quantity.
Choosing to focus on all the great things about your life, being grateful for them and having a positive purpose to your life are the main routes to a positive attitude. Studies have proven that a positive attitude will improve your health and help you to feel and look great. Social support is another important factor, whether it be through acquaintances, friends or social groups (e.g. clubs and societies).
The UK Department of Health stated "a major cause of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart and vascular diseases, osteoporosis and even some cancers and mental health problems is inactivity." Weight training is the most effective way to control your body weight, increase your metabolic rate, improve your body shape, your posture, mood and even your sex life!
What you do includes relaxing! Pampering yourself and helping your body to heal are the final parts of this jigsaw and may include massage, beauty treatments, herbal detox's and energy healing.
