How To Fight Stress Headaches
One of the common causes of stress headaches is not getting enough sleep. For the most part people need at least seven hours of sleep each night to feel really good. If you get less than this amount it is likely that your risk of certain problems like headaches can be increased. Try to change your daily habits so you get to bed earlier. You might also try not consuming as much caffeine and turning off your TV and computer up to an hour earlier than usual. You could also try to fit a nap into your day. Even if you can't sleep during the daytime, the act of lying down and closing your eyes for a few minutes can be quite helpful. You don't have to wait until you have a headache to do this, either -by taking some time for relaxation every day, you may be able to prevent headaches from occurring. Aerobic exercise is the best way to raise your circulation and get more oxygen which can help you prevent your headaches. Don't try to exercise while you have a headache, but start making it part of your routine, at least a few times per week and you should gradually see a real improvement. It's tempting to take over the counter pain relievers or drink cold beverages when you've got a bad headache but you need to make sure that you get to the root of the problem if you really want to manage it.
