How To Get Your Merchant Services Application Approved

So you already have your requirements all set for your merchant services application. You already know the payment schemes and know what merchant account you want. The only problem here is this: how can you make sure that the application gets approved? After all, due to the risk involved, credit card processors won’t be too quick to approve just any application.

Providers of merchant services usually consider the financial status of the applicant when checking out applications. This isn’t a major factor since companies are more likely to look at your business and if it is in a high risk industry, but a good credit rating will help your merchant services application. Make sure you have already settled any previous problems and if applying, get the services of credit rating fixers to iron out any financial discrepancies on your record. Even if you credit rating isn’t directly related to your business, the credit card processor would find your application favorable if the man behind the business is financially sound and stable.

But what if you have a previous credit problem? Does this make you immediately ineligible for merchant services? Luckily, this isn’t the case, but make sure you come clean disclosing any related financial information. Your previous liens and even your past merchant accounts are considered here as well. If you do not disclose information regarding this, the processor might think you’re deliberately hiding it.

If your business has been around for a good number of years (or even months), collect any data and papers on your sales history. This is necessary because, to be direct about it, your application would be accepted easily if the processor can see your operation is profitable. It would help to highlight that your business is not in a high risk industry.

Of course, even if your business is high risk or considered undesirable, you can still find merchant services for your operations. Simply find the processor that can offer you the services you need according to your business background and procedure. Be prepared to pay higher fees if your business is not a preferred client.
