How To Improve Pre-shot Routine

It always a good idea to have a pre-shot routine before you hit the ball because it is a very effective method of improving one's focus on the task at hand - the upcoming golf shot. Every player has their own personal pre-shot routine. Here is the common pre-shot routine that work for every golfer.

Step 1: Don’t overdo practice swing. Most of beginners golfer always take too many practice swings before hit the ball. This can make a golfer more nervous and feel less confident with the shot. You only need a relaxed practice swing to simply stretch up your arms and shoulders.

Step 2: Visualize the shot you would like to see. Picture the ball flying through the air and landing exactly where you want it to go. This will give you more confident on your swing.

Step 3: Take your aim and adjust your alignment. Start by looking at the target behind the ball. Then select a second target that is a few feet ahead of the ball on a line with that target, it could be a divot or cigarette butt etc. After that walk to the ball and sets the clubface behind it so that you are aiming at the second point.

Step 4: Swing. It’s a good idea to waggle the club a few times to ensure that you are comfortable. Once you're ready, it is time to get your backswing in motion and go for the green!

I recommend you to experiment with different pre-shot routine and find the one that works best for you. If you start to make your own pre-shot routine now, your golf game will be improved in no time.
