Rotate the hanger across 360 degrees to make sure that there are no obstructions. Repeat the same drilling procedure at rest of the locations that you want to install the recessed lights in. Then, make an outline of each light bulb fixture at the exact location. Cut around the outline with help of a drywall saw. Make sure you make cuts at the right location and of right size.
