How To Make A Tasty Turkey Swiss Burger

Beef burgers are tasty but fattening. Turkey burger, as is, can not compete with the taste of red meat, but it is healthier to eat. By adding the right ingredients to turkey burger a tasty treat can be created that rivals a cheeseburger. Follow these easy steps to healthier burger.

Ingredients and supplies you will need are enough ground turkey burger to make as many patties as you want, garlic cloves, an onion, lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, Lawry's Dijon and Honey marinade, salt, pepper, a chopping board, wax paper and a cookie sheet.

When it comes to the garlic, onion, salt and pepper add as much or as little as you like depending on your taste. Finely chop the garlic cloves and onion while you heat a pan on medium heat over the stove. Roll the ground turkey into little balls about the size of a golf ball. Each ball will be one turkey patty, so only roll as many patties as you are going to make.

Now that the garlic and onions have been finely chopped, and you have all the turkey burger you need-mix all the ingredients together. Combine the golf ball sized turkey balls into one big one, then flatten it out. Place the garlic and onion in the center and add salt and pepper to liking. Take the marinade and pour it over 1/4 of the meat.

This next step is a tad messy so have a towel or paper towel handy. Mush the ground turkey burger and ingredients all together in your clean hands. Turkey burger, marinade, garlic and onion will squish through your clean fingers as you mix it thoroughly.

Set the big ball of turkey burger down while you rinse off your hands. Take the cookie sheet and lay a piece of wax paper over it. Once again roll the turkey burger into the size of golf balls and place them on the cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Begin to smash the turkey into flat patties with one hand while using the other hand's fingers to push and buildup the side of the patties. A Perfect patty in my book is only a quarter of an inch thick all around. This keeps the ingredients evenly spread throughout and ensures the entire patty cooks evenly.

The pan should be nice and ready for the patties now. Place the quarter inch patties filled with all the goodies in the pan. Once they are on the pan do not move or reposition them. Let them cook for two minutes then flip and cook for another two minutes.

Toast two slices of wheat bread while the patties cook. Once toasted, add light or regular mayo to the toasted bread and add one slice of Swiss cheese. Take the cooked patty and lay it on top of the toasted bread with the Swiss cheese. Cut one thick slice or two small slices of tomato and put it over the patty. Add some Iceberg or Romain lettuce to finish off the turkey-Swiss burger.

This is an easy recipe to follow and it's filling and tasteful. Turkey burger is a good source of protein to help heal muscles after a long bike ride or run. Another great thing about this meal is that it will leave you satisfied without putting you in a "food coma." Add as much veggies, and as many different types of veggies to make it more healthier.
