How To Make Sure That Your Kids Have A Safe Yet Fan Halloween
Halloween is an entertaining time for children, and the very last thing any parent wants is for this enjoyable occasion to turn into a disastrous day. With all the excitement it’s awfully easy for parents to let their guards down and not be as careful as they really should be on this particular day. Nonetheless, there are many simple ways to guarantee that your kids have a fun, and yet safe Halloween.
1. If your children will be wearing any kind of face mask as part of their Halloween costume, then it’s very advisable that you make sure the Halloween costume eye holes are large enough for them to be able to see clearly without any visual distractions.
2. Stay away from Halloween costumes that include hats that are attached to any type of cords, strings or ropes. These particular types of costumes have the tendency of getting wedged on objects and could possibly wind up accidentally strangling your kid.
3. If your children’s Halloween costumes require them to carry any props, such as wands, swords butcher knives, pitchforks, or anything of that nature, please be sure that the props don’t include any sharp edges and that any tips are not rigid, but instead flexible and smooth enough to not cause any injuries to them or any one around them.
4. Before allowing your children to go trick or treating be sure to have a talk with them about safety precautions such as the importance of not getting into strangers cars, chatting with strangers, not getting into strangers homes, not eating any of the treats before you get an opportunity to check them, looking both ways before crossing streets and crossing when the lights tell you to.
5. When your children are out trick or treating make certain that they carry a flashlight, a glow stick or have them put on costumes with reflective tape on them so that they are more visible to cars even from a distance.
6. If your children are going trick or treating with out adult supervision, be sure that they go with a group of other children that you trust, and let them know that it’s very important for them to stay together as a group and under no circumstances should they wonder of from the rest of the group.
7. If you intend on taking your kids trick or treating in your vehicle, make sure that your children get out of the vehicle on the curb side, not on the traffic side, and remind them to always look left, right, and left again before crossing the street.
