Hunters are one of the best gold farming classes there is.
For the fastest dps (damage per second) and best solo grinding I recommend spending at least 41 talent points into Beast master spec. With this spec the pet alone can take out most mobs at level 70 by it self.
The basic strategy is to chain pull mobs using the pet, and pretty much having zero downtime due to no repair or hp loss. Using mend pet if the pets HP drops below 50% or if there is multiple attackers is usually a good idea. Mend pet only costs mana, which we can regenerate by using aspect of the viper.
Keep growl on automatic use on the pet bar. You do not want to draw attention to your self and want to keep all the mobs attacking your pet which has high armor and HP.
Depending on what kind of pet you have you will want its basic skill also on automatic. For example owls would have screech and ravagers would have gore.
To keep downtime to a minimum use freezing traps to Crowd control(CC) any extra mobs that pull. And switch over to aspect of the viper when mana is below 60%.
Always start with a full quiver/ammo pouch and clean out as much bag space as you can since mobs drop lots of stuff. You wouldn't want to go back and forth to the vendor non-stop.
In my opinion by using aspect of the cheetah and snare traps hunters can kite certain world bosses (nagrand, nessingwary quest bosses) and effectively solo a lot of content that other classes can't touch.
