How To Profitably Use An Autoresponder

If you’ve been around online marketing long enough, you always hear about people using autoresponders and that you need one to run your business. This much is true, but there is a lot of misinformation about how to correctly use it.

First I’ll tell you what not to do, so you don’t waste your money.

1. Don’t use your autoresponder for paid leads. There are companies that collect people’s e-mails, and sell them in packages. A package can have 100 e-mails, 1000 e-mails, etc. Many online marketers buy these packages and then e-mail these lists with products.

This is a waste of money, don’t buy these packages.

These people don’t know who you are, why should they respond to you? They’ll probably think you’re spamming them!

Also think about how many other people have bought these leads. If they’re getting 10-20 advertisements (if not more!) in their mail everyday, think about how hard you’re competing for their attention.

Now that you know what not to do, I’ll tell you what to do with your autoresponder.

1. Use your autoresponder to capture e-mails. This is why you have your sign up form. People sign up because you have something to offer them. They’ll read your mail, and you’re not spamming them!

The main word here is pre-qualified. By signing up through your form, people pre-qualify themselves as interested in your offer. Now introduce similar offers to this list, you have an agreement now on what they want to see more of.

2. Use your autoresponder to send automated messages.
Automation is very important, this is going to save you a lot of time and do a lot of work for you!

Set up your autoresponder to automatically send messages to your list as often as you want.

For example, I send 4 lessons the first time around. Each lesson comes a day spaced after the first one. I then wait 1-2 weeks, and then send more valuable information. You decide how you want do this, just keep in mind that your style is often dictated by your mailing list!

If your list is not used to constant online advertising, it would not be good to bombard them with constant follow ups!
