Going on a road trip with your friends, family, or even by yourself can be a rewarding experience, after all, you can explore your own country, a foreign country whilst becoming closer to the ones that you love. But sometimes packing for a long road trip, like packing for any holiday or excursion, can take time and effort, two things which may be sorely lacking in your itinerary. So if you’re running out of time to get packed and prepared, here are a few tips to help you get everything ready-in record time.

Where are you Going?

Your destination will undoubtedly affect the clothes, food and other necessities that you pack, so consider where you’re travelling to before you dig out your suitcase from its current hiding place. Are you staying in the same country, or crossing the borders into another one? Take into account the weather at your destination, think about whether you’ll have to pack warmer clothes, which can take up a lot of excess space, or sun block and extra toiletries, which will make your bag a lot heavier.

How Long are you Travelling For?

Are you going away for a few days, or will you be driving for a few weeks? The answers to questions like this will dictate the clothes, food and money that you’ll bring with you on your trip. So try not to pack too much or too little, because you may just regret it once you’re on the road.

Who Are You Going With?

If you’re travelling on your own, the answer is you, and you need to rely on yourself for everything, but if you’re travelling with a group of friends or family, then you can always delegate tasks to them. One person could be responsible for the food and refreshments, while another is in charge of important documents like tickets, visas and passports. If you’re travelling with people of a similar age or build as you, you can always share clothes, to save on space in your suitcase and your car.

Once you’ve packed, the hardest part is done, and you can set off on your next foreign holiday without much hassle.
