How To Pop Shuvit
To do a pop shuvit, place your front foot where you would for an ollie. Your back foot is slightly trickier. Place it on the tail, also just as you would with a regular ollie, except if you plan to kick the board behind you (the easier way to try first, I believe most would agree) then place your back foot closer to the toeside of the board, to make it easier to kick it behind you. If you want to try to kick kit forward, do just the opposite. Have your foot more towards the heelside, hanging off the board a little, for better position to kick it forward. Then ollie. Once in the air, kick the tail of the board either forward or backward, sending the board into a helicopter-like spin. Watch your board beneath you as it spins, and once it has made that 180 degree turn, “catch” it with your feet by stomping the board down, both feet on both trucks, bending your knees to absorb shock, and roll away clean. You may want to try to just do a plain shuvit before advancing to the pop shuvit, but in my opinion, a pop shuvit is no harder, really. You can also try the trick on grass or carpet first before attempting it on the slippery cement first, if that makes it easier. Once you have mastered the 180 backward shuvit, try a 360 one. Try kicking it forward instead of backward too. Have fun! Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com Allan Clearpool is a skateboard blogger and lifelong skateboarder.
