How To Take Better Photos, Digital Photography Tips
But first, let me give you the one secret key to great photos. It’s knowing where to stand. Yes that’s it. All these other techniques, tips, etc are based on others finding places to stand that work and turning them into guidelines anybody can follow. Let’s look at one tip. Avoid the middle of the picture and place your subject to the sides of the frame instead. How does this have to do with where you stand? Because just by moving your camera a few centimeters you can adjust the subject from being dead center to on the left. And this little adjustment can make for much more pleasing shots. Another tip to look at is simplicity. When people take photos, mostly they make their photos very cluttered and uninteresting. Think of photos with a whole bunch of people lined up looking at the camera. It’s boring to everybody except the people in the shot. Taking simpler shots can be achieved by moving in closer, having less cluttered backgrounds, and a number of other methods. But notice how they are all related to where the camera is placed. What I want you to do right now is go outside and focus on one subject. It could be a donkey or a fire hydrant. Pick this subject and take pictures everywhere of it. From eye level, from the ground, from a tree, moving the camera a little to the left, zooming in, etc. Notice how the shots look with different camera positions.
