How To Use Your Gps
GPS stands for global positioning system. These devices communicate with satellites to figure out where you are, and route the best way for you to get where you want to go. You can get a system and use it while hiking, or fishing, or hook it into your vehicle. Different devices hook into your car in different ways. You can get a device that mounts onto your dashboard (either permanency, or with something like a suction cup to make it easily movable from vehicle to vehicle), or hook onto the inside of your windshield. There are a variety of screen sizes, and touch screens are becoming more common making it easy to use your GPS while driving. You can put in where you want to go and any preferences you have for how you want to get there (avoid highways or toll roads, fastest or shortest route, etc) and pick your route, or just let it take you the default way, which is usually the fastest route. Your device will take you through the drive, step by step, telling you where to make your next turn. If you miss a turn it should reroute you and tell you where the next available place to turn would be. It may seem like a complicated device, but it's actually very easy to use your GPS once you get started, and you'll soon be wondering how you ever got around with it.
