How To Wash Your Jiu Jitsu Gi
• You must always wash this only in cold water. This is one of the major prerequisite of washing without which it might get spoilt. • If you wash it in warm water, blood, stains and other forms of dyed materials might get settled in it. Therefore, you must avoid washing it in warm water to prevent this. After you wash, you must ensure that you hang it for drying. • You can also wash it with cold water and try drying it on a heat cycle which might be completely low. If you do this till it is completely dry, some shrinkage might occur and this would give a perfect fit. • You must try to avoid keeping it on the dirty floor. This might make the Bjj Gi dirtier. Immediately after training, you must try to wash it so that your sweat stains get easily removed. • Bleaching is a strict no for the Jiu Jitsu Gi. If you go for bleach, you can be assured that the fibers of the cotton would get spoilt. Even if there is a hard stain, you can make use of any organic oxidizer to wash away the stains without the need of bleaching it. • Instead of bleach you can try using white vinegar. It would kill away the odors without even weakening the fabric of the cloth. This would not be in the case of bleach. • Immediately after washing, you must give it for drying. Otherwise, wet stains might form which is difficult to remove. • While you are cleaning, do not open the washer full. This would not clean your clothes. • When you purchase the Bjj Gi, there would be a recommendation from the manufacturer. You must try to follow the instruction so that you can take absolute care of your Bjj Kimonos. In the recent days there are many different types of Jiu Jitsu Gi available in the market. They are designed in such a manner so that they are quite easy to wash and therefore much more comfortable. Make sure that you wash it after every training session. Even if you are wearing your Gi two times a day, make sure that you either wash it or you wear a different Bjj Gi.
